Key accomplishments at Viterra include strengthening the company's presence in a number of emerging food ingredient markets including China and Southeast Asia and restructuring feed operations in New Zealand, resulting in significant improvements in operational efficiencies.

Prior to his tenure at Viterra, Karl was co-founder and then President of Can-Oat Milling, Inc., which included five oat processing facilities located in Canada and United States. Under Karl's leadership, Can-Oat Milling evolved from a greenfield construction in 1988, to one of the largest industrial oat processors in the world.
